Each Photomator preset carries the same look as its darktable style: the style is rendered by darktable on a grid of colors, and that rendering becomes a 3D LUT of 33 × 33 × 33 points, in Display P3, the space Photomator works in. The grain of the style becomes Photomator’s own Grain.
Install
- Unzip the pack.
- In Photomator’s presets panel, Control-click any preset group tag and choose Import, then select
The Grain Archive.adjustments(on iPhone and iPad: More › Import in the presets bar). - The presets appear as one collection, “The Grain Archive”.
Before importing a newer version, delete the previous “The Grain Archive” collection: importing the file again adds a second collection with the same name. Step by step, with updates and removal: install and apply the Photomator presets.
Use
A preset replaces every adjustment already set on the photo: apply it first, then adjust exposure. Use the Intensity slider of the Color Adjustments pane to dose the look.
Limits
- What a LUT cannot hold is left out: halation and other effects that depend on neighboring pixels.
- The grain is Photomator’s own Grain adjustment: you can change it after applying a preset.
