Preset license

This license covers the presets of the free pack and of the full pack. Each zip contains the same text as LICENSE.txt.

1. What you get

The darktable style files (.dtstyle) in the pack, called “the presets” below, are licensed, not sold. When you download the free pack or buy the full pack, you get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide and perpetual license to install and use the presets in darktable on the computers you use. You may adjust the presets and save your own variants for your own use; the limits of section 3 apply to them too.

2. Your photos stay yours

You may apply the presets to any photo, for personal or commercial work (client work, publications, prints, social media), without credit. The images you make with the presets are yours.

3. What you may not do

  • Share, resell, sublicense, lend or give away the preset files, in whole or in part, modified or not: no public repository, shared drive, forum post or file-sharing link.
  • Include the presets, or presets derived from them, in another preset pack, LUT, profile or product, free or paid.

You may keep backup copies for yourself, and you may share the link to the download page: thegrainarchive.com/packs/free/

4. Updates

The full pack is licensed as you download it. Updates are not included: if a newer version of the pack is published, you are not entitled to it. The same license covers any version you download.

5. Warranty

The presets are provided “as is”, with no warranty beyond the ones the law gives you and that cannot be excluded: this license does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer. They are interpretations of film looks built from manufacturers’ datasheets, not calibrated emulations, and they need darktable 5.6 or later. Results depend on your photos and your processing.

6. End of the license

The license ends if you break these terms. The license of the full pack also ends if its payment is refunded or reversed (chargeback). You must then delete the preset files.

7. Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live.
